Use this quick guide to choose the easiest way to reach the Marriott Marquis Washington, DC for the NPMA National Education Seminar (NES). 

Travel Advisory: The IndyCar Freedom 250 will bring heavy downtown activity the weekend before many attendees arrive. If you are driving or flying into DCA, allow extra time for possible road closures, detours, and congestion. Hotel valet parking is $75/night + 18% tax. 

Venue Overview 

The Marriott Marquis Washington, DC is at 901 Massachusetts Ave NW, near Mount Vernon Square Metro and a short ride from Union Station. 

Airports 

• DCA: Best option for most attendees; closest to the hotel and easy by Metro, taxi, or rideshare. 

• IAD: Good option for more flight choices, but farther from downtown. 

• BWI: Worth considering for airfare or schedule, especially if rail connections work well for your trip. 

For most attendees, DCA will be the easiest choice. If you arrive around the race weekend, allow extra time for transfers into downtown. 

Train Options 

Train travel is a good option for attendees coming from the Northeast Corridor or nearby Mid-Atlantic cities. 

From Union Station, the hotel is about 1.2 miles away by taxi, rideshare, bus, Metro (Red Line) or a manageable walk if traveling light. 

Metro and Public Transit 

• Mount Vernon Square is the closest Metro stop. 

• Metro is a strong option from DCA and for attendees staying elsewhere in the city. 

• Bus service is also available from nearby downtown stops and Union Station. 

Check WMATA schedules before traveling. Metro may be the easiest way to avoid downtown congestion. 

Driving and Parking 

• Driving is a practical option for regional attendees. 

• Hotel valet parking is $75/night plus 18% tax. 

• Nearby garages may offer lower rates. 

• Allow extra time for downtown traffic, especially around the race weekend. 

If you drive, review parking options in advance and expect possible delays from race-related closures or congestion. 

Local Transit and Getting Around 

• Taxis and rideshare are easy options from airports, train stations, and nearby neighborhoods. 

• Many downtown destinations are walkable from the hotel. 

• Metro and buses work well for getting around the city.
